Department Overview

As a member of the Division of Mission and Student Engagement, the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness at Barry aims to provide something for everyone. By providing current students, faculty, and staff with a well-rounded program, a safe and welcoming environment, and a chance to challenge themselves, Barry encourages all constituents to become involved in an activity of their choice. Recreation serves as an opportunity to meet new people, continue to participate in the activities you love and develop a lifestyle of fun and fitness.

We are located in Landon Hall, room 112. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if there is something we can do to improve our programs. Let us know if there is a certain intramural sport or activity you would like to see happen. We are here for the Barry University community!

Be Well. Be Fit. Be U. BarryUWin!!

The Health Promotion and Wellness Coordinator (HPW) collaborates with the Barry University student, faculty, and staff to promote a healthy campus environment, enhance student well-being and mindfulness, and foster student empowerment to achieve optimal health and academic success through eight strategic areas. We believe that health and wellness is more than just healthy eating and exercise. We utilize the eight dimensions of wellness under SAMHSA model to inform our approach to physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, environmental, occupational, financial, and social wellness. Looking forward to making this year the BEST year to come!!
