ACCESS POLICY
The Library is intended primarily for the use of currently enrolled Barry University students and currently employed faculty, administrators, and staff. Others, such as Barry University alumni, visiting scholars who are currently sponsored by an academic or administrative division, and public visitors, may also have access to the collections.
ALUMNI USE OF THE LIBRARY DATABASES
Alumni can obtain a temporary guest account for the Barry University network, which is valid for a seven- day period. The temporary guest account will allow access to the Library's electronic databases on campus. Due to database licensing restrictions, alumni access from off-campus to the Library databases is not available. Alumni cards are available from the Alumni Center, and temporary usernames and passwords are available from the Garner Computer Lab #247.
CELL PHONE USE
Electronic communications devices such as cellular phones are permitted in the Library. However, they must be used in a way where disturbing other library users is avoided. Electronic devices should be set to silent or vibrate mode. Any conversation on a cell phone should be held in an area where conversation will not disturb or distract others, such as the stairwells.
CIRCULATION LOAN PERIODS
View the loan period, renewals, fines, other information for books, films, CDs. and other library materials
FOOD AND DRINK POLICY
Food is not permitted in the Library. Drinks in covered containers are permitted in the Library except for areas that contain computer workstations.
GROUP STUDY ROOM POLICY
Group study rooms are available for Barry University students, faculty and employees.
GUIDELINES FOR DONATING GIFTS
Donating gifts such as books, journals, and other materials often contribute significantly toward strengthening the collections at the University Libraries.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) POLICY
The interlibrary loan service is available to the faculty, staff, administrators, and students.
QUIET POLICY
Quiet conversation is permitted on Level 2 and 3 of the library. Conversation should be kept to a minimum on Level 4 (the quiet study Level).
