Each institution must maintain a reasonable balance between “imports” (students attending the institution as part of the TE program) and “exports” (eligible dependents enrolled at another institution as part of the TE program). For example, if an institution has five imports, they generally cannot have more than five exports. Each institution has a liaison officer who monitors the number of students going out (exports) and number of students coming in (imports). The Director of Financial Aid is the liaison officer for Barry University.
If it is necessary to limit certification of TE Candidates (exports) priority will be based on employee's seniority and timeliness of TE application to the Financial Aid Office. Priority for imports consists of a mixture of academic merit, financial need and timeliness of TE application.
