Center for Community Service Initiatives About the CCSI

The Center for Community Service Initiatives (CCSI) is Barry University’s clearinghouse for community engagement information, resources, and opportunities. Offering a variety of programs and services, the CCSI organizes, coordinates, and promotes community engagement activities among students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners. The CCSI also plays a major role in promoting personal and social responsibility through experiential learning as part of Barry’s current Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).

Experiential learning is integral to an undergraduate education at Barry University. All undergraduates have an opportunity to take what’s learned in the classroom and apply it in the community. The university’s Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP, is designed to foster personal and social responsibility. Key concepts illustrated in this video are responsibility, community, social justice, civic engagement, service, and diversity.
