The CARE Center: Counseling Services Offered Through The Dr. Maureen Duffy Family Enrichment Center

MISSION

Counseling services focus on enhancing clients' strengths and resources. Our mission is to work collaboratively with clients to assist them in discovering creative solutions to their unique problems.

SERVICES

The Dr. Maureen Duffy Family Enrichment Center in the CARE Center provides counseling services to all residents of the South Florida and The Bahamas area from preschool through late adulthood.

Services include:

Individual, family, marital, couples, and group counseling; and
Therapeutic Supervised Visitations. Clients are seen by treatment teams, which consist of students and faculty members of the Barry University Counseling Program, including Licensed Family and Mental Health Counselors. All students are completing either a Master's or PhD degree in Counseling.

FEES

The CARE Center, Miami is a fee-for-service facility that provides services at affordable rates.

The CARE Center, The Bahamas is a free service for members of the Queens College Community, and low-cost counseling service facility for the rest of The Bahamas community .

The CARE Center, Miamioperates Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 9:00pm.

LOCATION

Counseling services in Miami are provided through the Dr. Maureen Duffy Family Enrichment Center, which is part of the CARE Center at Barry University’s Adrian Dominican School of Education.

TheCARE Center, The Bahamasis located at Barry University’s Adrian Dominican School of Education campus at Queen’s College.

The CARE Center is directed by Silvia Reyes, Ph.D., LMHC, NCC, MFT

SERVICE LIMITATIONS

The CARE Center does not provide emergency services, detoxification counseling, custody evaluations/decisions, visitation decisions or other forensic work/findings, or care for those with acute mental illnesses. Those requiring these critical care services are referred to the appropriate facilities in the area.

The CARE Center does not provide counseling services to Barry Students or Barry University Faculty/Staff. Barry students receive counseling services through the Student Counseling and Psychological Services office on Campus. Counseling for Barry Faculty and Staff is provided through their Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or their health insurance.

EMERGENCIES

In the event that emergency care is needed (sexual assault, domestic/intimate partner violence, abuse or neglect), please contact 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
