We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

The CARE Center (Counseling, Assessment, Research, and Education) is designed to meet the academic and mental health needs of underserved children and their families from our local community. The Center offers a full range of educational diagnostics, interventions, and mental health support services that address a diverse spectrum of individual needs, while promoting individual and family wellness from a holistic perspective.

Barry University recognizes that true change, growth, and leadership come when our internal resources are leveraged for maximum impact. As a result, the University pursues various funding opportunities from federal, state, local government, and private corporations and foundations. More specifically, the CARE Center seeks grants that support the University’s mission to serve under resourced and underrepresented populations.
The CARE Center currently offers the following grant funded programs:
Barry University’s Youth Development Program C.H.A.M.P.S. (Community of Healthy, Active, Motivated, Positive Students) serves a total of 80 participating students (grades 6-12) at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High, North Miami Senior High School and the North Miami Police Athletic League (PAL).
Since 1999, Florida Department of Education has supported Barry University’s College Reach-Out Program (C.R.O.P.) through funded grant awards.
The Counseling Department in Barry University’s Adrian Dominican School of Education was granted a total of $15,000 for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 by Wells Fargo-Harry Kramer Memorial Fund to provide an Educational Enrichment Series for CROP students within 6-12th grade.
