Biography
Yxiam Toledo is an Assistant Professor in the Undergraduate Program of Nursing at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She joined the Barry University community in Spring 2019. Dr. Toledo has completed her doctoral degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2017, an FNP in 2016, an MSN in Education in 2012, and a BSN in 2010. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Dr. Toledo has been a nurse for over 25 years. She is bringing here extensive clinical background in NICU, medical surgical, Mother baby, Pediatrics, and outpatient medical services. She is currently practicing as a primary care provider for a local clinic in South Florida and delivering Tele-Health medical services as well.
Her clinical nurse expertise also includes Hospice and Palliative Care.
Dr. Toledo has held numerous roles in academia including lead faculty in different programs for the last couple of years. She has served as Assistant professor for DNP, FNP and BSN programs. She enjoys working with undergraduate and graduates’ students and assisting them in their academic and professional roles.
She is currently an active member of the Florida Nurses Association (FNA), Florida American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and Oncology Nurses Association (ONC).
