Biography

Wes Henricksen is an Associate Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law, where he has taught since 2016. His scholarship focuses on how to stop or slow the spread of disinformation by politicians, the media, and corporations. Professor Henricksen’s recent publications have appeared or are forthcoming in the Cardozo Law Review, Utah Law Review, Washington Law Review, and elsewhere. He is also the author of Making Law Review, a guidebook for law students. Apart from his writing, he has also presented his research at numerous workshops, conferences, and law schools, and appears regularly in the media. At Barry Law, Professor Henricksen teaches or has taught Legal Research and Writing, Securities Regulation, and Torts. Barry Law students voted him Professor of the Year for 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. Prior to entering academia, he clerked for the Hon. Bruce J. McGiverin at the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and spent a decade in private practice in Miami and San Diego. He graduated number one in his major and with summa cum laude honors at Washington State University, and received his J.D. from the University of Washington, where he served as the Executive Notes & Comments Editor on the Washington Law Review. Professor Henricksen has worked, lived, or studied in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. He is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, and Florida, and he is fluent in Spanish.
