Biography

Sonique Sailsman is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She joined the Barry University community in Spring 2019. Dr. Sailsman completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (2000) at the University of Miami, Masters of Science in Nursing Education (2009) at Drexel University and PhD in Nursing Education (2016) at Nova Southeastern University. Her clinical practice experience include pediatric acute care (PICU, CICU and PACU). Her areas of research interest focus on nursing education, pediatrics and healthy work environments. In addition to her scholarship and teaching, Dr. Sailsman is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society (STTI) and her undergraduate alma mater alumni association. She also serves as one of the Barry University Nursing Student Association (NSA) Faculty Advisor.
