Biography

Scott Freer is an Assistant Professor in the Athletic Training Program and is a Certified and Florida licensed Athletic Trainer. Scott holds certifications of Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist from the National Academy of Sport Medicine (NASM). Scott earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Athletic Training form the Rocky Mountain University of Health Profession in August of 2018, a Master in Movement Science degree with a concentration in Athletic Training from Barry University in 2005 and graduated from Florida International University’s Athletic Training program in 2000. Scott is no stranger to Barry University. For the last 11 years, Scott has served the student-athletes of Barry University Department Intercollegiate Athletics as Head Athletic Trainer as well as a preceptor for the Athletic Training Program. Prior to returning to Barry University in 2008, Scott was the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Thomas University for five years. While at graduate school, Scott worked in the Buccaneer athletic training room as a graduate assistant to head athletic trainers Jessica Mora and Joe Kanefsky.
