Biography

Professor Levenson is new to the faculty of Barry University School of Social Work. Prior to coming to Barry, she served on the faculty of Columbia University School of Social Work. Professor Levenson received her B.S.W. from Florida Atlantic University, her M.S.W. form Barry University, and her PhD. from Florida State University. Professor Levenson has publications in the areas of research design, HIV/AIDS, health behavior and organizations, crisis intervention, and domestic violence. She has presented her work extensively both nationally and internationally. She has a strong belief in community/university collaboration which is backed by her commitment to assist community-based organizations in adapting, adopting, or developing effective HIV prevention interventions. Professor Levenson has served on the boards of several community-based organizations and has received several awards for her commitment to community service.
