Biography

Dr. Sade Smith joined Barry University as an Assistant Professor and School Counseling Coordinator for the Counseling Program. She holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Social Science from the University of South Florida. In addition, Dr. Smith holds a M.Ed. in School Counseling from Howard University and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Her primary professional research interests include school counselor’s cultural capital and underrepresented students, play therapy with inner-city youth and families, in-home counseling services, and evidence-based supervision practices in mental health.
