Biography

Peter Brewer earned his Doctoral of Musical Arts degree from University of Miami's acclaimed Frost School of Music in 2009 and joined Barry University in 2010. His DMA concluded with the publishing of his essay The Creative Process of Ira Sullivan, which was a phenomological study of the jazz improvisations of Miami area jazz legend Ira Sullivan. Dr. Brewer currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music in the Department of Fine Arts and maintains an active performance schedule in Miami and worldwide as a saxophonist and clinician in applied saxophone, woodwinds, music theory, jazz improvisation, composition, and psychology of musical perception.
