Biography

Nora Hernandez-Pupo has been a nurse for over 17 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida International University and her Master of Science in Nursing from University of Phoenix. She is currently enrolled in the PhD in Nursing at Barry University, where she hopes to complete in December 2017. Professor Pupo has worked in many hospitals and in various units. She has adult and pediatric trauma and emergency room experience. Cedars Medical Center in Neurological Step-down and Intensive Care Units. Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in their Operating Room, Outpatient Department, Endoscopy, and Special Procedures unit. She was also Admitting Nurse and House Supervisor. She travelled for over two years up and down the East Coast of the United States working in various units and settings. For HCA, she worked at Osceola Regional Hospital in their Emergency Room, Cath Lab; and then later she worked as their Clinical Nurse Manager in their CPCU Progressive Care Unit. She also worked for a time with the Osceola County Health Department revamping their clinics and patient care delivery systems. Professor Pupo has also worked in Tele-Health and Virtual Client management. She has worked for Baptist Health as Sr. Supervisor of their stand-alone Urgent Care Centers and later as their Plaza Manager for Diagnostics and Urgent Care Centers. She has taught at several institutions, most recently at Miami Dade College for the past two and a half years.
