We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

Biography

Dr. Melissa Machan is a full-time nurse anesthetist at Plantation General Hospital. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of North Florida in 2000. She then obtained her Master of Science in Nursing degree in nurse anesthesia from Florida International University in 2003 and then her Doctorate in Nursing Practice degree from the University of North Florida in 2011. Dr. Machan serves as adjunct faculty in the DNP in Anesthesiology program and lectures on a variety of clinical topics including obstetrical anesthesia and research.
