Biography

Dr. Jeff Ritter is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Master of Science in Health Service Administration Programs (MSHSA). He is the Coordinator of the Internship Program for graduate students. Dr. Ritter has over 25 years experience as a healthcare executive working in the hospital, managed care, and insurance industry. Jeff Ritter holds a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Long Island University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Baruch College in New York City. Dr. Ritter has served as a Faculty Senator and is a leader in the community in which he lives and serves. He is a board member of the South Florida Health Care Executive Forum (SFHCEF) which is known nationally as the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE). He has also led the student case competition for the MSHSA program for a number of years which is sponsored by the SFHCEF. Additionally, Dr. Ritter is the National Chair for the Upsilon Phi Delta (UPD) Honor Society which is part of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). Dr. Ritter is a former health care executive and has years of management consulting experience in healthcare marketing, strategic planning, and leadership. He has spoken at conferences, locally, regionally, and nationally on topics including health care reform, health care strategy, and leadership. He has also co-authored chapters in textbooks and has published articles in a number of publications. Dr. Ritter teaches Health Care Strategy, Marketing, Leadership, Managed Care, and Policy. Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Jeff Ritter lives in Delray Beach, Florida.
