Biography

Cynthia P. Cervantes is the Program Director for the Cardiovascular Perfusion Program at Barry University. Ms. Cervantes is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology (1984), a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Perfusion (1986), and was recently awarded a Master in Health Service Administration from Barry University in 2012. Ms. Cervantes is board certified in cardiovascular perfusion by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion since 1987 and practices locally in several clinical affiliates. Prior to joining the Barry University Cardiovascular Perfusion Program full-time in 1999, Ms. Cervantes was a clinical instructor and coordinated students in the local affiliates. In 1999, Ms. Cervantes served as the Assistant Program Director and Clinical Coordinator until her promotion to Program Director in 2009. Additionally, she has served as a past Director for the Florida Perfusion Society and is currently a member of the American Society of Extracorporeal Technology, Florida Perfusion Society, and the Perfusion Program Director’s Council.
