Biography
In 2014, Alina Diaz-Cruz joined Barry University's College of Nursing and Health Sciences bringing with her an extensive clinical background in telemetry, medical-surgical nursing, epilepsy monitoring and nursing administration. She enjoys working with students and supporting them in their academic and professional endeavors.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Diaz-Cruz is an active member of the Florida Nurses Association (FNA), American Nurses Association (ANA), American Diabetes Association (ADA), Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). She currently serves as the Secretary of FNA's Health Policy- Special Interest Group (SIG) and is an Advocacy Leader for the American Diabetes Association.
Her scholarly interests include nurse retention and satisfaction, health policy, patient advocacy and evidence-based practice.
