Covid-19 Vaccination
While not currently required, all students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccine. Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to quarantine after travel. Students, faculty and staff who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 must continue to take this added precaution. Refer to the COVID-19 travel policy and the Quarantine and Isolation policy for more information. -
Screenig and Testing
Nobody (including those who are vaccinated) should come to campus with symptoms including, but not limited to, fever, cough, shortness of breath, new onset loss of taste or smell, muscle aches, sore throat, chills, headache, nausea/vomiting, rash on toes. Any residential student experiencing symptoms should immediately quarantine, get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible, and remain in quarantine until test results are back. Everyone coming to a Barry location must continue to complete a formal daily symptom self-check, and resident students are required to perform this check each day before leaving their Residence Hall. We have in place COVID-19 testing protocols and plans for contact tracing within the university community. Any student, faculty or staff member or contingent worker, including those who are fully vaccinated, who is experiencing symptoms, has been diagnosed COVID-19 positive, or who has been exposed to someone diagnosed COVID-19 positive must complete the COVID-19 Initial Notification Form. Students, faculty, staff, or contingent workers who have been advised to quarantine must do so in accordance with instructions from the contact tracing team. If symptoms develop at any point during the quarantine period, COVID-19 testing will be required. Report any symptoms to the contact tracing team and they will provide guidance on the extension of quarantine and/or isolation. -
Face Coverings
All students, faculty, and staff, vendors, and visitors are required to wear a face covering in shared indoor spaces at all Barry University locations. In the case of one-on-one or small indoor meetings where all individuals are fully vaccinated for COVID-19, participants may forgo wearing face coverings provided all attendees wish to do so. This exception does not apply to classrooms or student group meetings. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 are also required to wear face coverings outdoors while in group settings. Face coverings may not have a one-way filter or valve, as those do not protect others around the wearer. -
Cleaning and Hygiene
The Command Decision Team is continuously updating University policies and protocols as understanding of the virus that causes COVID-19 improves and guidance from public health experts evolves. Sanitizing stations will remain in place throughout campuses and locations and cleaning protocols have been adjusted in line with updated guidance that in most situations, the risk of COVID-19 infection from touching a surface is low. We will continue daily cleaning, and disinfection in line with current recommendations. Frequent and effective handwashing is of critical importance. All students, faculty and staff will be encouraged to frequently wash hands or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. -
Capacity at Barry University Locations

Visitor Policy
All visitors, vendors and guests must adhere to these guidelines. Members of the Barry University community should share them ahead of welcoming any visitors. -
