Born and raised in the Bronx, NY, Lenora Easter knew from a young age that she wanted to be the first lawyer in her family. After high school, she moved to Orlando and earned a BS in Business Administration, Finance, at the University of Central Florida and her Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law in 2007. Lenora is licensed to practice law in New York and Florida, and with the United States Supreme Court.
Lenora started her career with the Office of the Public Defender Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orlando, participating as lead and co-counsel in many jury trials. In 2014, she returned to the Bronx and volunteered with The Bronx Defenders Office while studying for the NY Bar Exam.
Putting her faith and her belief that every person deserves the best legal defense regardless of their socio-economic status into practice, in 2019 Lenora proposed, helped create and became the Team Leader of the Bronx Defenders’ Early Defense Team. They are a holistic, interdisciplinary team of advocates and attorneys who want to even the playing field for indigent individuals.
Lenora volunteers by speaking on local and national panels, conducting “Know Your Rights” informationals and lobbying on key bills concerning criminal justice reform. In 2017 she was named one of New York State’s Top 40 Under 40 attorneys by the National Black Lawyers and in 2020 as one of the Top 100 attorneys by The National Trial Lawyers Association.
