After spending her childhood in Long Island, NY, Eileen relocated to Miami with her family. Throughout high school, she volunteered at Variety Children’s Hospital, which reinforced her decision to pursue a degree in nursing at Barry College.

Eileen’s career began in 1980 at South Miami Hospital, where she worked as a perioperative nurse for 14 years while raising her son and daughter. Eileen then found her home once again at the newly named Barry University, as the Director of Student Health Services. Shortly thereafter, she married Ed Hineline and was blessed with a second daughter, Shannon, who followed in her mother’s footsteps and graduated from Barry in 2017.

Eileen found her true passion in College Health, where she ensures that all students have access to quality health care. She earned her Master’s in Health Care Administration and became very active in the American College Health Association. During the COVID 19 pandemic, Eileen co-chaired Barry’s Health Care Task Force, mitigating health risks on campus and supporting the Barry community with access to vaccinations.

Eileen’s next chapter involves “Continuity of Care,” focusing on reducing health disparities faced by children by building nationwide quality primary school health programs that lead into college health programs.
