Avon King has maintained positions in trading, sales, compliance and operations throughout his 14-year career in financial services. Today he works for Morgan Stanley as the complex business service officer of the Aventura office complex, where he is responsible for helping to lead and drive key strategic initiatives, including general oversight of operational processes. Aventura services international and domestic business, which keeps the St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, native on his toes. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2013 as the business service manager in the Las Olas branch in Ft. Lauderdale and was promoted to his current position two years later. Previously, he was the agency supervisory officer at LINQ Financial Group in Coral Gables.
Avon holds a BS in finance and economics from Barry’s Andreas School of Business and an MBA in finance from Nova Southeastern University. He serves as chair of the scholarship committee as a director on the Barry Alumni Board. In addition to being an essay judge at yearly SIFMA stock market challenges, he volunteers at Feeding South Florida events and at Optimist, where he coaches recreational soccer and basketball. Avon resides in Pembroke Pines with his wife, Shalani King, and their three children.
