In this track, you will:
- Learn the research process and investigate the impact of psychological factors on sport, exercise, and performance.
- Gain opportunities to present at professional conferences and publish in scientific journals.
- Prepare for doctoral degrees in sport and exercise psychology, counseling, or other psychology related areas in high ranked research I universities.
The 36-credit hour thesis track emphasizes courses in Advanced Statistics and/or Qualitative Methodology, Thesis Proposal and Thesis Defense. If you intend to pursue advanced graduate study leading to the doctoral degree, you will be strongly encouraged to select the "Research" or “Dual” option, which requires a proposal and final thesis presentation defense as well as submission of a written proposal and final thesis.
