SUBSIDIZED STAFFORD STUDENT LOAN PROGRAM
Through this program, if you meet the qualifications, you may borrow up to $8,500 per academic year from a bank, a savings and loan association, or other lenders who participate in the program. The loan will have a variable interest rate not to exceed 8.25%. Repayment begins six months after you graduate or drops below half-time status. In order to qualify for the program, you must demonstrate financial need; be enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis; and show satisfactory academic progress. You must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
UNSUBSIDIZED STAFFORD STUDENT LOAN PROGRAM
Under the Unsubsidized Stafford Student Loan Program, you do not have to demonstrate financial need to borrow funds. Furthermore, the interest is NOT subsidized by the federal government while you are in attendance. Consequently, you will have to make interest payments or allow the bank to capitalize the interest accrued during the period of enrollment. You may borrow up to $18,500 minus any approved Subsidized Stafford amount. The loan will have a variable interest rate not to exceed 8.25%.
Please Note: You must apply for these loans. Receipt of a financial award letter indicating eligibility for a loan does not constitute application. Further information and applications for loans are available from the Office of Financial Aid. You can reach the Office at (305) 899-3673 OR 1-800-695-2279 or e-mail finaid@barry.edu.
ALTERNATIVE LOANS
Alternative Loans are available to assist you in meeting your educational costs. We recommend you utilize this option only if you find you have exceptionally high educationally related expenses. If you are creditworthy, you may borrow from $2,000 - $20,000 depending on your cost of attendance. You must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled at least half time or better, and be making satisfactory progress. Interest rates on these loans are variable, not to exceed the 91-day treasury bill rates plus 3% at repayment. Interest accrued during periods of enrollment may be capitalized upon the your request.

EMPLOYER TUITION REIMBURSEMENT PLANS
If your employer offers a graduate reimbursement plan, we will work closely with you to process the required paperwork. We make it easy to utilize your employer's tuition reimbursement program. If you are expecting tuition reimbursement for tuition from your employer, you should present a letter on company letterhead stating the company's policy at the time of registration for each term. Barry will wait to receive the reimbursement from your employer. At registration, you will only need to pay the difference between the total payment you owe and the payment to be received from your employer.
BARRY UNIVERSITY'S DEFERRED PAYMENT PLAN
If you can meet the cost of your tuition by spacing out your payments, Barry's deferred payment plan can help. For classes that span a term of twelve weeks or more , you may pay your tuition and fees in three installments as follows: 1/3 at the time of registration, 1/3 thirty days later, and 1/3 (final payment) thirty days after the second payment. You must sign a promissory note for the full amount. A $40.00 processing fee will be charged.
