Barry University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers a post-professional practice doctorate degree in occupational therapy. This flexible, distance-delivered program is designed for NBCOT certified occupational therapists who wish to advance their education beyond the master’s level.
Applicants may submit a reflective portfolio for evaluation to receive up to 6 credits for work experience in areas of leadership, research, or advanced practice.
Portfolio for Work Experience
The Occupational Therapy Program is committed to transformative education of adult learners through non-traditional lifelong learning experiences. We recognize the value of life and professional experiences and offer certified occupational therapy clinicians the opportunity to submit a reflective portfolio evidencing validation of their acquired knowledge and skills in the program’s educational outcomes. The portfolio must be submitted at the time of admission and may be focused on one or more of the following areas: leadership, research or specialized/ advanced practice. Students may earn up to 6 credits towards their doctorate degree in occupational therapy based on the portfolio review. A Portfolio review fee applies.
