We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. The steps to becoming a nurse anesthetist are:

Complete an undergraduate nursing program.
Gain at least one year of critical care experience as a registered nurse.
Complete a graduate anesthesiology program.

If you are a high school student considering a career as a nurse anesthetist, congratulations! By planning ahead you can ensure that you are fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

When choosing a university for your undergraduate coursework, identify those with solid, accredited nursing programs. When you have the opportunity to take electives, try to focus on science and chemistry.
