In the Bachelor of Science program in Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences (SESA), you will be exposed to a foundation in the movement sciences, preparing you for multiple options within the fields of sport, exercise, fitness and wellness fields.

The Program
The Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences program develops students who are adaptive to the physical needs of others, creative, collaborative, culturally sensitive, empathetic, knowledgeable, proactive, reflective, ethical, and professional. The program prepares you to examine and apply the knowledge and skills learned in the program to sport, exercise, and fitness and wellness settings while working to improve current fitness challenges prevalent throughout society. -
Hands-On Experience
The major requires a total of 120 credits, including hands-on experience before you graduate. The curriculum includes practicums in each of the three concentration areas: Coaching, Fitness Specialist, Sport, Exercise, And Performance Psychology. From there, you participate in a 6-credit internship within your chosen specialization. The practicum and internship experience takes what you’ve learned in the classroom and applies it directly to real-world situations. -
Possible Certifications
A major in Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences will help to prepare you to obtain certifications in American College of Sports Medicine – Certified Personal Trainer Certification, American Council of Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer, and Florida Department of Education Coaching Endorsement. -
