Program Overview Human Resource Development (MS)

In the competitive, dynamic world of HR, an MS in Human Resource Development will prepare you for success. Your degree will provide you with expertise in developing and enhancing individual and organizational learning, talent, and leadership capabilities.

You’ll learn to lead strategically and effectively in the areas of learning and development, talent development, organization development, leadership development, and inclusion and diversity.

You’ll graduate more skilled at improving workplace performance through identifying performance gaps and designing strategic evidence-based solutions.

Admission Requirements

  • A completed Application
  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution with at least a 3.0 GPA and official sealed transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Statement of purpose (250 - 500 words providing evidence for the relevance of this degree to current or future career goals)

Degree Requirements

  • 33 to 36 credits in core courses and electives
  • a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • one semester internship and/ or one semester practicum

Admissions Overview Are you a Transfer or an International Student?

You can apply to Barry whenever it’s convenient for you. We accept applications on a rolling basis, but it’s always better to apply sooner than later. You’re considered a transfer applicant when you have at least 12 college level credits from a regionally accredited college or university. Remember, you may have to apply separately to specific programs, so please review the academic requirements for your intended major.
If you are an international student, applying as early as possible is in your best interest in order to allow ample time for immigration processing. Please note that general admission to Barry University does not guarantee acceptance into all academic majors. Also, please be aware that admission to Barry University does not guarantee that you will be granted a student visa by the United States Embassy or Consulate in your country of origin.
