    MBA students have the option to pursue a dual degree in Podiatric Medicine, Sport Management, or Sport Psychology. In most cases, adding a DPM or MS degree will not add to the length of your program.

Academics Program Overview

Our MBA program gives professionals many options based on their experience or interest. Whether you are seeking to gain more knowledge in accounting, finance, marketing, management, health services administration, international business, or wish to seek a dual degree or double degree, Barry University provides the very best learning environment where you are able to expand your knowledge and career options.

The MBA program consists of 36 credits of course work, including nine core courses (27 credits) and three electives (9 credits).

The MBA program at Barry University has been designed with today’s business professional in mind. Some students prefer a less heavy workload schedule, finding it easier to balance classes, work and family obligations. Therefore, we offer a flexible evening program where students can take from 1 to 3 classes per semester, provided that the MBA is completed within five years. The pace of your program can be customized with the help of your graduate advisor.

    Our double degree program allows students to earn an MBA degree from Barry University, as well as an MBA from another institution abroad. Students do this by combining their studies between Barry and one of our partner universities in another country.

The Andreas School of Business offers three dual degrees that combine the MBA with another field of expertise.

Barry University’s Podiatric Medicine, Sport Management, and Sport Psychology programs are highly recognized. They make a perfect fit for those who want to expand their business skills as well as their proficiency in one of these three fields.

If you plan to become a podiatrist, you will find that the dual DPM/MBA is advantageous when trying to establish and maintain a private office practice.

The blend of disciplines in the Sport Management/MBA works for you every time you write a sports marketing plan, assess your competitive environment, or consider the economic implications of a strategic decision.

With a focus on human performance and wellness, the Sport Psychology/MBA program can help you establish your own consulting business or advance within an organization.

Admissions Process GMAT Information

Admission Requirements

  • GMAT Score: GMAT waivers will be awarded based on a combination of work experience and undergraduate GPA. Applicants with insufficient work experience will be required to submit a GMAT score.
  • Other Test Scores: The Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
  • Transcripts: Official college and/or university transcript indicating your receipt of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university or a listed international institution and your cumulative undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • Statement of Purpose: A one-page essay explaining the fit between applicant’s goals and the program at Barry University. The Statement of Purpose can be submitted as part of the online application.
  • Resume: Please also include an updated resume outlining work experience and two references.
The Admissions Committee will consider your accomplishments, potential, and goals when evaluating your potential for success in graduate business studies. Please include your full name, student ID number, or Social Security number on all documents.

Admissions Overview Are you a Transfer or an International Student?

You can apply to Barry whenever it’s convenient for you. We accept applications on a rolling basis, but it’s always better to apply sooner than later. You’re considered a transfer applicant when you have at least 12 college level credits from a regionally accredited college or university. Remember, you may have to apply separately to specific programs, so please review the academic requirements for your intended major.
If you are an international student, applying as early as possible is in your best interest in order to allow ample time for immigration processing. Please note that general admission to Barry University does not guarantee acceptance into all academic majors. Also, please be aware that admission to Barry University does not guarantee that you will be granted a student visa by the United States Embassy or Consulate in your country of origin.

At BarryU, our tuition is competitive, affordable and still promises all the perks of a private school education. Our cost per credit is in-line with other institutions, but we offer a mission-driven educational experience and provide our students with small class sizes, personalized attention, and academic excellence.
