Service Learning
Service learning is structured into Barry's Theology 201: "Faith, Beliefs and Traditions." If you enroll in a service-learning section, you will have the opportunity to work 10 hours at a local community service organization or program based on your individual talents, experiences, and academic major.
Your hands-on experience at the site will be integrated with theological concepts presented in the course through your final paper. Throughout this process, you will be guided by your instructor and the Director of the Service Learning Program.

Honor Society
Theta Alpha Kappa
Theta Alpha Kappa is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). Theta Alpha Kappa was admitted to ACHS in 1985. A national honor society in theology, Theta Alpha Kappa promotes excellence and scholarship in the fields of religious studies and religious education. It is open to persons of all faiths.
Members are encouraged to provide scholarly lectures and contribute articles for national publication.
Gloria L. Schaab, SSJ, PhD serves as faculty advisor for Barry's chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa. Barry's chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa, along with Phi Sigma Tau, regularly presents debates on current issues.

Admissions Overview
Are you a Transfer or an International Student?
You can apply to Barry whenever it’s convenient for you. We accept applications on a rolling basis, but it’s always better to apply sooner than later. You’re considered a transfer applicant when you have at least 12 college level credits from a regionally accredited college or university.
Remember, you may have to apply separately to specific programs, so please review the academic requirements for your intended major.
If you are an international student, applying as early as possible is in your best interest in order to allow ample time for immigration processing.

If you’re a full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate, you may qualify for our merit-based scholarships with awards up to $17,000, based on your cumulative GPA and standardized test scores. Scholarships are available for freshmen (including test optional), transfers, and international applicants. Using your admissions application, we automatically determine your eligibility.
