Founded in 1940 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters and originally called Barry College for Women, Barry is now a coeducational university that remains faithful to its Catholic intellectual tradition.

Support services are here to help.
The Barry community is built to help guide your success. From day one until graduation, we’re there to provide guidance. That starts with our orientation program, which includes our student-led O-Team and ORI 100 Class, and continues with our Career Center’s support, internships, and alumni engagement. We work with you to help you find your calling and choose your major.
You’ll also have access to the Center for Academic Success and Advising (CASA) which provides customized services that range from individualized academic success coaching to professional tutoring and financial aid counseling.

Admissions Overview Are you a Transfer or an International Student?
You can apply to Barry whenever it’s convenient for you. We accept applications on a rolling basis, but it’s always better to apply sooner than later. You’re considered a transfer applicant when you have at least 12 college level credits from a regionally accredited college or university.
Remember, you may have to apply separately to specific programs, so please review the academic requirements for your intended major.
If you are an international student, applying as early as possible is in your best interest in order to allow ample time for immigration processing. Please note that general admission to Barry University does not guarantee acceptance into all academic majors.
Also, please be aware that admission to Barry University does not guarantee that you will be granted a student visa by the United States Embassy or Consulate in your country of origin.
What do you want to be when you grow up? It's a question you've heard since childhood. Choosing a course for your future takes a lot of assessment, self-examination and perseverance. At Barry University, you'll have all the tools you need to do just this from the moment you become part of our community.
